Athens, Greece

Natalia
Afentoulidou

An artist of rooms, drawings and the delicate architecture between them.

Based in Athens, trained in Athens and Boston.

Paper, wood, discarded things. All of it can hold an image.

Natalia Afentoulidou is an artist working across drawing, installation and mixed media. She holds an MFA from Boston University and a BFA from the Athens School of Fine Arts, and has held residencies at MacDowell and Yaddo.

Her practice moves between paper and room. Dense, hand-drawn ecosystems become walls, objects and provisional architectures; discarded materials and photocopies carry the marks of use, reuse and refusal. Repetition is central: forms return across works, changing scale and company, as if a thought could be walked around.

Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and the United States, including at the Stone Gallery at Boston University, Anna Maria College, Geoffrey Young Gallery and the Cultural Center of Kifissia.
